Step 3: Verify that document lifecycle synchronization is working properly
This final step in the verification process will determine whether Hyper.Net is fully functional on the transformation server and if its integration with SharePoint is working properly. To begin, click on the Document Libraries tab at the top of the Hyper.Net Publishing Center application. The following screen will appear.
Now follow these steps:

Step
1
Click on Sample library (or the library you specified during installation) as shown circled in red in the image above. The SharePoint document library containing the sample documents will open.
2
Edit the TI Patterns document in Word:

3
Scroll to Page 15 of the 207-page document. In the section Design Principles, add a new bullet item to the text. Here's an example:
4
Save the document and close Word.
5
Click on the Hyper.Net Administration tab. The document should now appear in the Request Queue as shown in the image below (if it does not, it may have already published—check the Completed view to be sure). Click on the Auto Refresh box at the top right of the Request Queue to cause the browser to automatically refresh status every few seconds.
6
When the request has completed, click on the Publishing Center tab (or the publication library you specified during installation). Thinking with Patterns in Java should now appear under the current day's date. Click on the publication to open it. It is configured to publish a PDF rendition, which will be displayed automatically. Scroll to Page 15 in the PDF to verify that your change has published.

7
Repeat the process. Go back to the sample library and edit the SCORM - Whitepaper document in Word. Scroll to Page 9 and enter some custom text in the section Repurposing SCOs. Here's an example:
8
Save the document back into SharePoint by saving it and exiting Word. Go back to the Hyper.Net Request Queue and verify that the request is pending, in progress or that it has already published.

9
After the transformation process has completed, return to the Publishing Center tab and click on the SCORM - Whitepaper publication, which should now also be listed under today's date. When the publication has opened, click on the Full Screen button at the top right. Maximize the Window that appears. Using the table of contents navigator on the left, open Section 1.6.4, where you made changes. Your changes should appear in this topic within the hypertext publication:
10
Using the publication navigation bar, select Formats - PDF. The corresponding PDF rendition should appear. Go to Page 9 and verify that your modified content has been published:

11
Go back to the Document Libraries tab and click on Sample library. Select the Version History option for the TI Patterns document.
12
Select the original version of the document and click on Restore. A new version of the document will be created from the previous version.
13
Go to the Request Queue and verify that the new version has been queued for transformation. After it has completed, the last version you created by modifying the document content will have been replaced by the original document content (this is known as version rollback). Check the Publishing Center to verify that this has occurred as expected. Assuming rollback has functioned properly, you have now verified that Hyper.Net's document lifecycle synchronization functions are working properly with SharePoint.

Note
Congratulations!
If you have successfully completed the above steps, you have verified that Hyper.Net's conversion and publishing features are working properly and that the system is communicating correctly with SharePoint. You are now ready to configure and customize Hyper.Net and start creating robust content delivery solutions for your organization.
If you were not able to complete the above steps or your results were incorrect, the Hyper.Net Support Database at www.coextant.com may be able to help you resolve the problem.
