Hyper.Net SharePoint Edition Getting Started Guide
Displaying metadata in the content presentation

Step
1
Go to Site Actions - Site Settings - Modify All Site Settings.
2
Under Galleries, select Master pages and page layouts.

3
In the screen that appears, scroll down to the items starting with "T" as follows:

Here you will find three page layouts associated with Hyper.Net (you can copy these into your own WCMS applications and modify them as needed, or modify them here to expand Hyper.Net's sample WCMS application into a solution that meets your requirements). These three page layouts are used as follows:
TopicBinary.aspx: Used to display renditions based on binary files, for example PDF files, Flash files, source files and Flat HTML files
TopicStructured.aspx: Used to display hierarchical topics within a Rich Hypertext rendition
TopicUnstructrued.aspx: Used to display topics within a Rich Hypertext rendition having no structure (having only one topic)
4
For the sake of example, we will add the document metadata Division to the TopicStructured.aspx page layout. Click on the context menu for TopicStructure.aspx, select Send To and then Download a Copy. Save the file to your desktop. (Depending on your environment, you may also need to check the file out first.)
5
Edit the copy of TopicStructure.aspx on your desktop in VisualStudio.

6
Search for FieldName="TRANSFORMED". The cursor will move to the following location in the code:
This line represents the access and placement of the special Hyper.Net field TRANSFORMED within the page layout. This field contains the entire published HTML component of a topic within the Rich Hypertext rendition.
7
Copy the entire line at the current cursor location and paste the copy into the page layout code on the line immediately before. Then modify the new line to refer to your new field Division. Your resulting code should look like this:

Tip
Be sure to adjust the value following "id=" to ensure all field references in the HTML remain unique!
If you specified a different output name for the Division property when you added the metadata to the Filtered Values in the Hyper.Net schema, note that the reference here in your code must match the Output Name defined for the filtered value.

8
Save the file and exit VisualStudio. Upload the aspx from your desktop as follows:
9
When you come to the upload form, select HN SPE Content Types for the Content Type Group and Hyper.Net Topic for Content Type Name as shown below:
10
Click on Save. (If you had to check the page layout out to download it, you will now need to select Check-in instead of Save.)

Note
You have now modified the page layout used to display hypertext topics within the Rich Hypertext rendition of a publication. When a topic is displayed, the document metadata value for Division will be displayed in the location on the page where you referenced it within the page layout code.
Keep in mind, however, that no value will be displayed within the WCMS application for any document having the property Division that has not yet been published through Hyper.Net. You must first modify and save a document (or simply modify its properties) before checking to see if your changes have been successful.
