Displaying metadata in a view
Some metadata values are more useful when displayed in a list of publications rather than in the publication itself. Such values are not only useful for users, but also for looking up content using specific metadata keys, for sorting and for other purposes. Here's how to display a metadata value published by Hyper.Net in a view. For illustrative purposes, we will create a new view named with Division.

Step
1
Click on the Publishing Center tab in Hyper.Net's sample WCMS application. Just above where the publications are listed, you will see the line:
If you need further help, please refer to the installed help.
Click on this hyperlink to launch a page of useful administrator and developer links.
2
Click on the destination Publication Library in the left column. Create a new view as follows:

3
Select Standard View. The following screen will appear:
4
Enter the name with Division and select the columns you wish to display in the view. Be sure to select the metadata Division:
5
Select OK. You have now created a new view using the Division metadata value.

Note
Keep in mind that no value will be displayed within the WCMS application for any document having the property Division that has not yet been published through Hyper.Net. You must first modify and save a document (or simply modify its properties) before checking to see if your changes have been successful.
