Step 2: Display the list on the Welcome Page

Step
1
Open the Welcome Page where you'd like to use the list of PDFs.
2
Select Site Actions - Edit Page. If you've opened the Welcome Page in Hyper.Net's sample WCMS application, your screen should look something like this:
| |
3
Click on Add a Web Part in the Bottom Right Zone. From the list that appears, select Publications under Lists and Libraries and click on Add:
The standard Hyper.Net Publications list is now displayed:
| |
4
Click on Edit - Modify Shared Web Part in the top right corner of the Web Part. The following screen will appear:
5
Change Selected View to the one created above—in this case Sales Docs with PDF. Click on OK. The list of sales PDFs is now displayed in the bottom right of the Welcome Screen. Clicking on an icon directly opens the corresponding PDF.

Note
Don't forget that when you select a view for a Web Part, SharePoint actually creates a copy of the view for use with the Web Part. If you then modify the view—by adding a new column, for example—the modified view will not be visible in any of the Web Parts that use the view. You need to reselect the view for each Web Part again and click OK. Only by so doing will SharePoint create a new copy of the view for each Web Part!

Note
Congratulations!
If you have read through this entire section (using published content within a WCMS application) and have tried these changes yourself, you now understand enough about the structure of Hyper.Net-published content to access and use any of your converted documents within Hyper.Net's sample WCMS application or any other SharePoint application.
