Hyper.Net SharePoint Edition Getting Started Guide
Customizing the PDF metadata stamping process
Hyper.Net has a comprehensive set of functions for manipulating PDF output. These functions include metadata stamping, watermarking and document compounding. For information about how to implement watermarking and document compounding, refer to the Hyper.Net Support Database at www.coextant.com.
By default, Hyper.Net's metadata stamping facility is configured to stamp the following information into the lower left corner of each page of each PDF:
Publication_Title - LastModBy - Date
The stamp's default orientation is vertical.
Hyper.Net's metadata stamping facility allows you to configure virtually any result you wish to achieve without programming. You're free to comment out metadata stamping from your solution or modify the content, appearance and placement of the stamped information.
The metadata stamping process is configured in the hypernetconfig.xml in the HyperNet folder. Open this file in your favorite XML editor, collapse all sections, then open the Conversions section. The file should look like this:
Scroll down to the bottom of the Conversions list and locate a section of conversions dedicated to the Microsoft Office applications:
Expand the Conversion named Word. Within this section you will see a subsection called Properties and one called Tasks. Within the Tasks section there is only one task named WordPrepare. This task prepares a Word document for conversion to many different formats, and defines its own Properties and Tasks for this purpose. Open the Tasks section within the WordPrepare task. You will now find three tasks:
Expand the section named MetadataStamp. You should find the following content:
These are the settings you can use to configure the metadata stamping process the way you want. But before you can do this, you need to understand how these settings are used by the overall Hyper.Net transformation process.
